$1 2009 Mob of Roos Master Mintmark C Counterstamp UNC

In 2009, the Royal Australian Mint (RAM) completed a substantial upgrade to its minting facilities. To mark the occasion, the standard mob of roos' one dollar was struck with a special master mintmark featuring the letter "C" (Canberra) with a kangaroo running through it. During a 4 day period from 3-6 July, the RAM gave the public who personally attended the Mint the opportunity to strike a counterstamp "C" under the "D" of dollar, on a master mintmarked coin using the 'mint your own' mobile coining press.
