19,920 postal numismatic covers consisting of an Inspirational Australian Sir Douglas Mawson aluminium-bronze $1 coin and three Australian postage stamps (2 x $1.20 & 60c) were jointly issued by Australia Post and the Royal Australian Mint, Canberra.
The coin is mounted on a colourful see-both-sides card and housed in a souvenir envelope. The accompanying Australia Post stamps are cancelled with two specially prepared '1911-14 AUSTRALASIAN ANTARCTIC EXPLORATION' postmarks dated 4 September 2012 at Kingston Tasmania 7050.
