
PNC 2013 Surfing Australia
15,000 postal numismatic covers consisting of a copper-nickel, Surfing Australia 50c coin and a commemorative 60c postage stamp were jointly issued by Australia Post and the Royal Australian Mint, Canberra to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Surfing Australia, established in 1963 as the Australian Surfriders Association.
The coin is mounted on a colourful see-both-sides card and housed in a souvenir envelope. The accompanying Australia Post stamp is cancelled with a specially prepared surfing postmark dated 12 February 2013 at Torquay Vic 3228.
